In Memory Giving

Donating in memory of a loved one can be a truly special and personal way of remembering someone through a cause they loved. We are grateful to all those who have made in memory gifts towards LDSM and we have always been incredibly touched to hear how our festival, and the young musicians we support, have been so important to members of our audience who have sadly passed away.

Whether you would like to make a donation, dedicate a concert or support a young artist, we will do our very best to help you remember those closest to you in a fitting tribute.

If you would like to discuss making a gift in memory of a loved one, please contact our Festival Manager Nick Hardisty on 01539 266202 or nick@ldsm.org.uk

In loving memory of Janet Cox

Janet and Alister Cox have been coming to the Lake District for over 50 years, getting away as often as they could to their Ambleside home and enjoying the stunning local and natural surroundings. When they finally put roots down in the Lake District, they lived out their passions for music, singing in local choirs and spending countless days and evenings following the summer music festival. This was a huge part of their life together, and so when Janet sadly passed away, Alister and his family immediately thought of celebrating her life-long love of music.

Rather than sending flowers, they asked that their family and friends make a donation towards something she really loved. This request for such a local cause struck a chord, creating an In Memoriam fund that will help bring to life a concert at the next festival and help return live music to the area just when people need it most.

Please help us support talented young musicians and classical music in Cumbria.
