From his early studies at the specialist National School of Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania, Ugnius' talent has led to concerto performances, solo and chamber music recitals in Lithuania, Germany Italy and the UK.
Whilst living in Lithuania he gave a number of public performances and achieved great success both at the academic institutions he attended and also in a number of international piano competitions. One such competition was ‘Music without walls’, which he won in 2000. A year later he was awarded first place at the ‘Balys Dvarionas’ competition in Vilnius, Lithuania, and first prize at the "Gradus ad Parnassum" competition in Kaunas. In 2007 Ugnius was awarded first place in the Zdenek Fibich competition in Vilnius and two years later, was a semifinalist in the Liszt competition for young pianists in Weimar, Germany. In the same year he performed Liszt Piano Concerto No 2 in A major with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra in Klaipeda.
Now completing his studies at RNCM Ugnius was the sole recipient of the 2013 RNCM Gold Medal, winning numerous other prizes and was a finalist in the Brant Birmingham International Piano Competition in 2012.
