The players of this international trio – from Estonia, Spain and the Netherlands – met while studying in The Hague, and they have already won major chamber music prizes in the Netherlands: the Trio‘s two LDSM concerts (see also tomorrow) mark its UK début. It champions lesser-known works or composers, and this afternoon Jean Cras‘s music appears at LDSM for the first time. Cras combined his composing with a naval career, serving with distinction in WW1.
Michael and Christine Isherwood attended Christine’s last three concerts together at LDSM in 2017. This concert is dedicated in loving memory to Christine.
