When first published, Mozart‘s Fantasy was conjoined with the C minor sonata, as its preface, at the composer‘s own instigation: it makes a natural pairing. Franck‘s monumental work harks back to Bach‘s forms and quotes both from his master and Wagner‘s Parsifal bell motif in his moving work. Chopin‘s works are one of Hemmerlé‘s specialities and lovers of this repertoire will relish hearing the cycle of Préludes complete at LDSM. For more Chopin, see Mon 6th, and to hear Patrick in chamber music, see Wed 1st.
