This celebrated and much-loved Japanese duo have been regular contributors to both our International Festival and Academy for well over 10 years, including performances of the complete Beethoven violin sonatas in 2006 and their memorable collaboration with the Chilingirian Quartet in 2011. This year they mark 30 years since they came to the world's attention as prizewinners at the prestigious Munich International Competition.

After finishing her MA at the Tokyo University of the Arts with the Premier Prix 'Ataka Award', Emiko Tadenuma moved to London to study with Maria Curcio. In 1983 she won the 3rd prize at the Munich International Competition for violin and piano duo together with her husband, Kazuki Sawa.
