The Škampa Quartet’s innate playing of the Czech repertoire is steeped in history and tradition, building upon the work of the quartet’s mentors, The Smetana Quartet, and traceable back to earlier groups such as the Bohemian Quartet. Morava, the first string quartet by the group’s former leader, Pavel Fisher, was given its world première in 2007 at LDSM. It is with particular pleasure that we welcome Fischer’s Quartet No.2 in a world première tonight.
