Beethoven’s last movement masterpiece, his Große Fuge, performed here by The LDSM Academy String Ensemble, is the centrepiece for one of the most popular concerts in the annual Lake District Summer Music International Festival programme. Profiling great artists of today alongside a new generation of talented musicians, this concert is a feast of solos and ensembles to a recipe very much in keeping with the enduring spirit of one of the world’s legendary violinists, the late Yehudi Menuhin, after whom this concert is named.
