Walton Façade: An Entertainment

Wendy Dawn Thompson mezzo-sopranoGarth Bardsley speakerFiona Christie speakerNicholas Kok conductor

Berio’s enchanting settings of folk songs collected from all around the world carry their own unique magic. They tell of love, passion, prayer and light-hearted entertainment. In Façade, Walton’s brilliant imagination in his settings for the satirical verses of Edith Sitwell take us back to the new, smart sophistication of the 1920s society in their brave new world.
