New String Trio

The New String Trio was formed in September 2016 by close friends from the Netherlands, Estonia and Spain who shared a great passion for chamber music during their studies at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. While the Trio is constantly exploring new musical ideas and possibilities in core repertoire, it is committed to bringng lesser-known string trio works to a larger audience. In 2017 the Trio won the Grand Chamber Music prize as well as the audience award and the Eva Stegeman prize. Since then The Trio has played in various festivals such as the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam, the NJO Muziekzomer and Modernisma in Barcelona. It has also played several times on Dutch Radio 4 and Radio West. Its appearances at LDSM mark its UK concert début.
