Jonathan Rees has performed across the globe as cellist and gamba player with the UK's leading historical performance and chamber ensembles, performing as continuo/principal cellist & gamba soloist with the AAM, OAE, ENO, Britten Sinfonia and La Nuova Musica. He has appeared as principal cellist of Manchester Camerata and is principal cellist of Solomon's Knot and Faust Chamber Orchestra. He collaborates with fellow cellist and viol player Vladimir Waltham as Duo Domenico, which won the York International Early Music Competition audience prize in 2013 and has since performed in the London Baroque Festival, York Early Music Festival and venues across Europe. He has worked for the University of Cambridge as a researcher into 17th-century French street song and given historical performance classes at the RAM, Guildhall and RNCM.
