Ansy Boothroyd was a choral scholar at Trinity College Cambridge where she studied Modern Languages before going on to study singing for two years at the Royal College of Music.
In her varied life as a singer, she performs many different styles of music, from medieval to jazz. As a member of Vox Animae, she was last seen in the LDSM playing the The Soul in Hildegard of Bingen's Ordo Virtutum. She has performed as an oratorio soloist in the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Barbican, and in many operas and opera galas, working regularly with Sprezzatura and London City Opera, touring the UK, France and the United States. In contrast, she enjoys singing with Jazzmatazz, performing jazz standards of the 30s and 40s.
Off-stage, Ansy is a professional potter and sculptor, with work on sale in several of the country's finest galleries.
Ansy is really pleased to be performing in Keswick, her parents' hometown, and in the theatre in which she has attended so many fine performances over the years.
