Vocal Course (9–16 August)

For violin, viola, cello and piano

Dedication to the song texts

The 2008 Vocal Course is focused on English Song, but students are encouraged to bring other repertoire for study. Students will work closely on song texts and explore the inner messages. Different setings of songs will be analysed along with the messages conveyed in the accompaniments.

Develop your instrument and techniques

Group lessons work on posture, breathing and supporting the sounds. Warm-up and technical exercises are also specifically tailored to the individual needs of students.

Performing the Music

The ethos of LDSM strongly places learning alongside opportunities to perform. These provide opportunities to bring together the learning from lessons and put it into practice. International Festival concert opportunities for vocal students are scheduled in the LDSM Young Artists series and events such as our Christopher Rowland Candlelight Serenade.
