Summer Music Festival in Full Swing

The Lake District Summer Music Festival is now in full swing, and several fantastic concerts have already taken place. Successful concerts by Samyo, Chilingirian Quartet, and Gregor Horsch and Carole Presland have already wowed Festival audiences.
The Summer School is now also underway, seeing over 100 students from around the world enjoying first-rate tutorage from some of the world's most accomplished musicians.

2008 Festival about to get underway

Only one more day to go before Lake District Summer Music's 2008 international music festival begins.
The Festival opens with a golden celebration of English music for strings by The Goldberg Ensemble, at The Coronation Hall, Ulverston tomorrow, Friday 1 August at 8pm.

The 24th Lake District Summer Music International Festival is aiming for a top three festival rating again this year as it reveals the programme which Festival organizers will paint on the canvas of the Lake District across 17 days this August.
LDSM is affectionately known as the “friendly festival” by more than 10,000 festival-goers each year. This year’s International Festival will bolster its reputation of hosting thrilling concerts in inspiring settings, by staging 52 events, in 12 different locations, across the breathtakingly beautiful county of Cumbria.

Grange-over-Sands will be the venue for an inspiring evening of classical music on Friday, August 10, when two highly talented, international performers will be giving one of the inspiring concerts that encapsulate the essence of the Lake District Summer Music Festival (LDSM).
The event, to be staged at Victoria Hall, Grange-over-Sands, will present two LDSM favourites - Takako Yamasaki and Alexis White.

The countdown is underway for the 2007 Lake District Summer Music Festival, taking place over 17 days between August 3-19, in some of the most stunning settings imaginable and available to musicians from across the globe.
Ticket sales for the Festival, which has an ethos of offering thrilling concerts in inspiring settings, are up 40 per cent on last year, thanks to the continuing quality and reputation of both the Festival and its performers. The calibre of the musicians arriving in Cumbria, for this year's Festival is undisputed, comprising some of the hottest names in the world of classical music, as well as rising stars.

The 2007 Lake District Summer Music Festival will more than live up to its reputation of providing thrilling concerts in inspiring locations when it throws open the doors of a couple of its most beautiful churches to usher in the rock stars of the Early Music world, Red Priest.
