Ambleside Parish Church (APC)
Directions:
  • Once in Ambleside, drive up Rothay Road (the main road into the town centre) to your left is the bowling green.
  • As you bear left into Compston Road you will see the parish church.
  • Parking is available close to the parish church but not inside the grounds – there is only a disabled access drop off point at the church. For more information contact the Lake District Summer Music Box Office.

Brewery Arts Centre (BAC)
Directions:
  • Exit the M6 at junction 36 and head for Kendal.
  • After approx. 7.5 miles, take the turning signposted South Kendal.
  • Follow the road into town, staying in the left hand lane.
  • Brewery Arts Centre is on the left just after the Highgate Hotel.

Burn How Garden House Hotel (BH)

Directions:

From the south
  • Travel to Windermere (A591)
  • Take the first major left hand turn (sign posted to Bowness-on-Windermere).
  • Continue straight on into Bowness-on-Windermere.
  • At the mini roundabout at the bottom of the hill go straight on (bearing slightly to the left).
  • Take the 1st left after the miniroundabout
  • After approx. 200 yds bear right into Back Belsfield Lane. Entrance to hotel is 50yds on left hand side.
From the north
  • From Ambleside, take the A591 to Windermere. At the mini roundabout turn right.
  • Follow the road (sign posted Windermere) straight along until the next mini-roundabout.
  • At the mini-roundabout go straight on.

Carver Church, Windermere (CCW)
Directions:
  • From Windermere Town Centre drive towards Bowness along main road
  • Approx 200 yds after the police station turn left at the clock tower
  • Church is located on the right hand side

Coronation Hall, Ulverston (CH)

Directions:

Coronation Hall is situated next to the A590 trunk road which runs through Ulverston.
  • From junction 36 off the M6 motorway, travel along the A590 for 23 miles.
  • As you enter Ulverston you will see a Booths Supermarket, continue along the main road, across another roundabout and up to a set of traffic lights.
  • The Coronation Hall is now on your right hand side.
  • Turn right at the lights and around the small roundabout. You can drop off directly outside the front entrance to the theatre and / or continue to a car park.

Grasmere Parish Church (GPC)
Directions:
  • From the South. The village is accessible from the M6 (junction 36) via the A591, skirting Kendal and continuing through Windermere, Ambleside and Rydal. The church is in the centre of the village.
  • From the North. Leave the M6 (junction 40) and take the A66 west until it meets the A591, signposted for Windermere, and follow this road past Thirlmere and over Dunmail Raise to Grasmere.

Kirkby Lonsdale Parish Church (KLPC)

Directions:

From the south
  • Turn right off A65 onto B6254 (signposted Kirkby Lonsdale, Town Centre, Old Hutton)
  • Continue into centre of Kirkby Lonsdale and turn left onto New Road.
  • Turn right onto Mitchelgate and at the end of this short road turn left onto Head Beck
  • Church is on the right hand side
From the north
  • Take left turn after Kirkby Motors onto Kendal Road (B6446)
  • Continue down road into Kirkby Lonsdale
  • Bear left onto Mitchelgate and at the end of this short road turn left onto Head Beck
  • Church is on the right hand side
Parking on Market Day can be difficult so please leave plenty of time to find your parking space and enjoy this market town.

Kendal Parish Church (KPC)
Directions:
  • The town is clearly sign posted from the M6, 11km (7 miles) from Junction 36.
  • The church is on the right hand side of the road at the southern end of the town soon after you enter the one-way traffic system, and is conspicuous by the river (grid refce.5167 9213). There is a large church car park (metered.)

Kendal Town Hall (KTH)
Directions:
  • On entering the Kendal one-way traffic system get into the right hand lane going north on the A591.
  • Parking is available near the Town Hall this is accessed by turning right immediately after the first zebra crossing on the main road going onto Dowkers Lane. Follow the road round to a pay and display car park (no charge in the evenings).
  • Kendal Town Hall is on the main road in the middle of the town.

Penrith Methodist Church (PMC)

Directions:

From the South and West
  • If you are approaching from the south on the M6 or the west on the A66, you need to make your way to the roundabout where these two roads cross (junction 40 on the M6). At this roundabout, take the road signposted "Penrith A592" (a black & white sign). This road quickly brings you to a small roundabout. Go straight on at this. This will take you past Aldi, Halfords, Focus DIY, the railway station and MacDonalds on your left to reach another small roundabout in front of the ivy covered Agricultural Hotel. Turn left here. Very shortly you come to another small roundabout with Safeway supermarket on your right, keep in the left-hand lane. Go straight on and down the hill. (Note: A public car park can be found by turning right halfway down this hill. The church is only 5 mins walk away) At the bottom of the hill, follow the road left and then the right-hand lane that does a U-turn round some buildings. Immediately after this U-turn, turn left into Portland Place. (If you overshoot, keep right and you can go around the block again)
  • At the other end of Portland Place is a small roundabout. Penrith Methodist Church is the large building opposite on the left.
From the North
  • If you are approaching from the north on the M6, leave the motorway at junction 41 and take the second exit from the roundabout. (Signposted 'Penrith, Carlisle', '(A6)')
  • After about a mile, you will come to another roundabout. Turn right onto the A6 heading south.
  • This road goes up a hill and then down again into Penrith. Follow it to a mini roundabout between two petrol stations. Go straight on here.
  • The road continues down a narrow section between houses. As it opens out, you need to give way to traffic coming in from the right. Go straight on (you have no choice) but after just a short distance take the first left into Portland Place. (If you miss this, keep right and go around the block)
  • At the other end of Portland Place is a small roundabout. Penrith Methodist Church is the large building opposite on the left.

St Cuthbert's Church, Carlisle (SCC)
Directions:
  • St Cuthbert's Church is situated behind Carlisle Cathedral in Castle Street in the centre of Carlisle.
  • The Cathedral is sign-posted on all routes into the city, just head towards the city centre.
  • Parking is sign-posted and is available in the area of the Cathedral in the Damside Viaduct and Devonshire Walk car parks.
  • Disabled parking is available in the Cathedral grounds and The Lanes Shopping Centre.

St Martin's College, Ambleside (SMC)

Directions:

From the south
  • Leave the M6 at Junction 36.
  • Take the A590 and A591 for Keswick and Ambleside.
  • The A591 forms the main road through Ambleside
  • Follow signs for Grasmere
  • The College is on the right-hand side of road as you leave Ambleside, immediately after a mini roundabout at the foot of Kirkstone Pass.
From the north
  • Head south on the A591 towards Ambleside from Keswick/St Johns-in-the-Vale
  • Main Entrance to St Martin's is on the left as you enter the town, opposite the main tourist car park.

  • From the South. The village is accessible from the M6 (junction 36) via the A591, skirting Kendal and continuing through Windermere, Ambleside and Rydal. The church is in the centre of the village.
  • From the North. Leave the M6 (junction 40) and take the A66 west until it meets the A591, signposted for Windermere, and follow this road past Thirlmere and over Dunmail Raise to Grasmere. It is best to enter the village via the south road near to Dove Cottage. The church is in the centre of the village.
