“Something like this every year to introduce different cultures would be good... Wonderful to have the opportunity to learn about other styles of music than western ones… It made such a contrast to the other concerts in the festival” Audience members 2016

In the first of this year’s ever-popular Blackwell events in partnership with Lakeland Arts Trust, LDSM marks this month’s 70th anniversary of India’s independence from the UK in an afternoon of Indian classical music introduced by one of Ravi Shankar’s greatest disciples. The 75’ programme will open with an introduction to the instruments and the four main aspects of Indian classical music, followed by a performance of one or two extended ragas.

Present your Blackwell concert ticket at the Arts & Crafts House ticket desk after 2pm and get £1 off the admission price to the House.
