Following their recital at the Bridgewater Hall, Sally and Duncan, distinguished alumni of LDSM, bring a programme of Lieder from Schubert and Strauss interspersed with Britten's enchanting settings of folk song and Satie's sophisticated cabaret songs.Duncan adds Schumann's gentle yet exuberant spirit with 4  pieces from the Fantasiestucke Op.12 for solo piano.  Their demanding concert diaries take them both throughout the UK, Sally to opera and oratorio roles and recitals, Duncan as concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist.  Both trained at the RNCM; both are multiple prize-winners.

Sally Johnson (soprano)

 

Soprano Sally Johnson trained at the Royal Northern College of Music receiving a BMus (hons) and a PPRNCM. Awards include the Eva Turner Award and the Elizabeth Harwood Award.

Sally gives regular recitals throughout the UK and has worked with pianists such as Martin Roscoe, the most memorable being her Bridgewater Hall debut in Manchester while eight months pregnant!

Duncan Glenday (piano)

Duncan works extensively as a soloist, accompanist, chamber musician and teacher. He has performed solo recitals for music societies throughout England and Scotland and is currently a tutor of piano at the Royal Northern College of Music Junior Department.
