4x4 Composer Residency 2010

Lake District Summer Music invites strong applications from composers with a developed grasp of writing for voice and piano to take part in our fourth exciting composers residency, running 26 July – 2 August.
Led by composer Robert Saxton, with the internationally acclaimed vocalists Lesley-Jane Rogers and Quentin Hayes, and director Garth Bardsley all in residence, you will have the opportunity to work intensively on the art of small scale opera/music theatre writing. 4 commissions have thus far arisen from previous 4x4 projects, with works premiered in our International Festival – highlighted recently by The Independent as one of the top 3 classical music festivals.
